Visual Arts

The visual arts program at St. David's seeks to instill in our students a love of art. From pre-kindergarten through grade 12, students are given the opportunity to experience different aspects of visual arts – from 2-D and 3-D design to drawing, photography, sculpture and painting.
Students’ works have won awards in local competitions and have been displayed in various venues, including our own exhibitions. Artwork has also been on exhibit at community events such as First Friday, the North Carolina State Fair, and other gallery displays.

Middle School Visual Arts offers an elective that students take four days a week. Beginning in fifth grade, the emphasis is on art appreciation with students creating works of art that reflect different time periods in history. In sixth through eighth grades, the elements of art and principles of design are used as a framework for students to create works using a variety of media and applied techniques.
