Health and Safety

St. David’s School strives to provide a healthy, safe and secure environment for students, faculty and staff.

The health and well-being of our students and employees is vitally important to St. David's School. We have a team of health professionals available on campus daily to support the needs of all members of the school.

School Nurse

A registered nurse is always on campus during the school day to serve the St. David’s community by providing individualized quality healthcare to our students and employees.

School Counselor

Our school counselor is dedicatedto serving the social and emotional needs of each student by providing a comprehensive school counseling program designed to support student achievement. Services for students, parents, school staff and the community include:

  • School Counseling Core Curriculum – Structured lessons to provide students with the knowledge, attitudes and skills that are developmentally appropriate
  • Individual Student Planning – Assistance for students in establishing personal goals and developing future plans
  • Responsive Services – Counseling activities designed to meet individual needs or concerns; may include individual or small-group counseling
  • Indirect Student Services – Collaboration with parents, teachers and community agencies to work on behalf of the students (Based on the American School Counselor Association National Model)

Athletics Trainer

Our athletic trainer is available for assistance to student athletes, ensuring proper hydration during practices and games, as well as injury evaluation and mediation.

Using Magnus Health electronic student medical records, these providers collaborate with each other to track student needs and record interactions. Through this software, parents can update student records and print medical paperwork.

I love the teachers at St. David's. I feel safe here. I can pray freely and there are so many friendly staff members and classmates. I am challenged in a good way. I love St. David's.Dillon '24

The safety and security of our students and employees is of utmost importance. We continually review and modify our safety procedures, which include a first-responders team, emergency drills, and visitor tracking on campus. Each member of the St. David's community has a part in the safety on our campus.

Administration, faculty and staff train on safety procedures before the opening of school each fall, as well as participate in ongoing training throughout the school year.

Students participate in safety education including fire, tornado and lockdown drills.

Resource Officer

A resource officer is always on campus during the school day to serve and protect the St. David’s community. Our resource officers are an outstanding group of off-duty police officers from the Raleigh Police Department. The resource officers rotate their services to our school throughout the week.

Campus Visitors

Visitors to campus are required to check in through our electronic visitor management kiosk, allowing us to track everyone who enters our campus.
