Varsity Girls Basketball Unstoppable In Conference Play

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team hosted conference opponent Cary Christian on Tuesday, January 24th.  The Warriors were ready to battle and looking to keep their conference winning streak going against the Knights.  The Warriors started the game off with lots of energy and on both sides of the floor.   The Knights had very little to no answer for the Warrior the entire game.  The Warriors were led in scoring by Sophomore Eliza Everett who had 10 points on the night.  Junior Maya Foster chipped in with 9 points of her own.  The Warriors will be in action again on Friday, January 27th as they travel to take on the Bulldogs of Wake Christian.

Varsity Girls Continue To Dominate Opponents

On Monday, January 23 our Varsity Girls Basketball Team traveled to Trinity Academy for a make up game against the Tigers.  The Warriors knew they would be facing a long week with three games on the schedule but wanted to get off to a good start.  The Warriors were sparked by their defense and as always Sophomore Eliza Everett and Senior Rebecca Driggers were in the mix.  Whether it was the ball pressure of Driggers or the rebounding and hustle of Everett the Warriors were in the driver's seat from the start.  The offense had a balanced attack also.  Freshman Kate Benson led the offensive charge with 12 points, Sophomore Eliza Everett added 7 points and Freshman Jordyn Driggers had 6 points of her own.  "We are starting to pick up our intensity on defense which will help us a lot during conference play." -Coach Seligson The Warriors will be in action again on Tuesday, January 24th as they host conference opponent Cary Christian.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ROUND UP (1/16 - 1/20)

​       MIDDLE SCHOOL ROUND-UP WEEK JAN. 16th - 20th 

Our MS "B" Team Warriors were in action on Tuesday, January 17th and Friday, January 20th. 

Middle School "B" Girls  

TRINITY ACADEMY

The Warriors got to play in front of the home crowd when they faced Trinity Academy this week.  The Warriors were ready to play after only having one game last week.  The Warriors trailed going into the half and continued to trail at the end of the third quarter.  The Warriors tightened up on the defensive end and went on an 8-0 run in the fourth.  Seventh grader Marlowe Spivey led the way for the Lady Warriors with 6 points. 

 

CARY ACADEMY

The Warriors were at home again and took on Cary Academy.  The Warriors jumped out to an impressive start sparked by their stellar defense.  The Chargers did not have a format that could compete with our defense.  "Our defense sparked our offense tonight.  I am so proud of the way these ladies competed and performed this week." -Coach Redmond.  Seventh grader Maya Wadsworth led the offensive charge for the Warriors with 6 points.  Seventh grader Adelaide Wilson, 6th grader Joanna Martin, and 7th grader Frances Fischer each added 4 points for the Warriors.   

 

Middle School "B" Boys

TRINITY ACADEMY

The Warriors hosted Trinity Academy on Tuesday, January 17th.  "It was a great game for us. Everyone on our team got to play and contribute to the game."- Coach Sewell The Warriors seemed to be clicking on all cylinders.  Seventh grader Ford Fisher came into the game off the bench and played so key minutes for the Warriors.  "It was a great team effort and a great team win.  I am proud of all of the guys," said Coach Sewell. 

CARY ACADEMY

The Warriors hosted Cary Academy on Friday, January 20th.  The Warriors started off slow but continued to grind it out the try and get things back on track.  Seventh grader Anderson Rakestraw hit a big 3 to give the Warriors the momentum in the fourth quarter.  Seventh graders Wiley Sloan and Jack Hogan made 3 big free throws with less than 30 seconds left to give the Warriors the lead and ultimately the win. "I am very proud of the boys effort!"-Coach Sewell

Middle School "A" Girls

TRINITY ACADEMY

The Warriors traveled to Trinity Academy to take on the Tigers.  The Warriors jumped out on the Tigers early as their defense kept Trinity off of the scoreboard for much of the first half.  The Warriors went into the locker room with a 20-9 halftime lead.  On offense the Warriors had good ball movement which lead to high percentage shots.  Eighth grader Jordan Holmes led the Warriors in scoring and almost hoisted a double double but was 1 rebound shy of completing this task.  Seventh grader Anna Hauser was the 2nd leading scorer on the night.  The Warriors had great contribution from their bench players as well.  Leading the charge off the bench was 7th grader Ruva Magaya who chipped in 5 points and 7 rebounds for the Warriors. 

 

THE O'NEAL SCHOOL

The Warriors hosted the O'neal School on Wednesday, January 18th.  The Warriors had just come off a hard fought victory the night before only to be facing another tough battle.  The Warriors showed grit and determination the entire game.  "Our ladies played tough defense led by Anna Hauser, Avery Black, Marion Cella and Emma Kate Woody.   Our offense was led by Katie France, Jordan Holmes and Anna Hauser.  We played well as a team on both ends of the court and as a coach I am so proud of how they played this game. This level of intensity and passion will lead us to the goals the ladies set when we started the season."- Coach Eastman

 

Middle School "A" Boys

Trinity Academy 

The Warriors traveled over to Trinity Academy to take on the Tigers.  The Warriors jumped out the an early lead and were working like a well oiled machine.  The defense of the Warriors took over only holding the Tigers to under 20 points for the entire game.  Eighth grader Wesley Hilldale led the scoring for the Warriors with 29 points.  Seventh grader Henry Morisey added 7 points to the Warrior total and 8th grader George Henry Shoaff chipped in with 6 points. "It was a great bounce back game for us."-Coach Jay Coley

 

THE O'NEAL SCHOOL

 

The Warriors faced the O'Neal school on Wednesday, January 18th.  The Warriors continued to feed off the momentum they had built in the previous night's game.  The Warriors also looked in sync on the defensive end of the court with everyone rotating in unison to cover their areas.  Eighth grader Wesley Hilldale led the Warriors scoring once again with 17 points.  Eighth grader Patrick Clegg chipped in with 8 points of his own.  “I feel like we are maturing at the right time.”-Coach Jay Coley

 

RAVENSCROFT

The Warriors picked up an extra game on Friday, January 20th.  The Warriors traveled to take on Ravenscroft.  The Warriors did not have the same spark and connectivity they displayed in the previous 2 games this week.  The Warriors seemed a bit out of sync on defense which led to a lot of open and uncontested shots by Ravenscroft.  The Warriors fought back and tried to find a rhythm on the offensive end of the court, but it was not enough for a win.  Eighth grader Wesley Hilldale ended the night with 25 points for the Warriors.

Varsity Girls Basketball Team Holding Steady As The #1 Seed In the Conference

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team loaded up their talents and took them across town to take on conference opponent Grace Christian.  With the Warriors sitting in the #1 spot in the conference standing they were looking to fine to and continue to get better before tournament play.  The Warriors jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.  The defense of the Warriors held the Eagles scoreless for most of the first half.  "We wanted to sharpen up our play tonight.  We haven't been having very good games lately but we have been doing enough to win.  Tonight I stressed to the ladies that we have to be better." - Coach Seligson. Sophomore Eliza Everett led the offense for the Warriors with 16 points and Freshman Kate Benson added 14 points of her own. The Warriors will be in action again on Monday, January 23rd as they play a make up game against Trinity Academy.
