Our Varsity Tennis Team took on conference opponent Cary Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 8th. Having had several games postponed due to weather, the Warriors were looking forward to getting back on the court. The Warriors had great momentum coming into the match having won their previous one. The Warriors started off strong in singles play with all athletes winning their match. Heading into doubles play, the Warriors were playing some impressive tennis and wanted to keep it going. The Warriors' dominance continued and they ended the day with a clean 9-0 sweep of the Knights.
Our Varsity Girls Tennis Team faced the Bulldogs of Wake Christian Academy on Monday, Sept. 23rd. The matchup was a make up game that had been postponed due to inclement weather. Our Warriors had been practicing hard for weeks and were ready to hit the court and face some outside competition. The Warriors started the day off strong with the singles matches where all 6 athletes defeated their opponents. The momentum carried over to the doubles matches in which each doubles matchup ended in a Warriors victory to cap off the sweep!
Our Varsity Girls Tennis Team traveled to take on Rocky Mount Academy on Tuesday, September 10th. The Warriors had just pulled out a close win against NRCA and were looking to continue to build on the positives from that match. The Warriors came out strong in their singles matches and set the tone for the rest of the day. The Warriors took the singles matches with a score of 4-2 and were able to maintain their momentum. The Warriors had strong play from all of their players, especially the doubles competitors as they took their matches with scores of 8-5 and 8-4. The Warriors walked away with an overall victory of 6-3 against the Eagles of Rocky Mount Academy. Way to go Warriors!
Our Varsity Girls Tennis Team traveled to take on NRCA on Thursday, September 5th. The Warriors have been playing hard all season thus far and have been right at the brink of their break through to turn the work into wins. The Warriors were well prepared for NRCA on Thursday. The matches were close all evening with the singles ending in 3 victories for the Warriors as well as 3 victories for the Knights of NRCA. The doubles went to the Warriors with Freshman Anna Hauser & 8th grader Taylor Cannon winning their doubles match 8-4 and 8th graders Maggie Morisey and Alice Stronach winning their match 8-3. The Warriors were able to pull off the victory with a score of 5-4. The Warriors will be in action again on Tuesday, September 10th when they travel to take on Rocky Mount Academy.
